What does satellite tv offer the average consumer?

There is no question that TV programs (all satellite and cable) have come a long way in a very short time. Many adults can remember when the choice of what programming is limited by air-to-ground TV broadcasting stations. In rural areas, exiled, only three major national TV studios (ABC, NBC and CBS), and a number of local stations. Even today, the rural areas suffer less from the ideal number of channels.
